I worked for Big Joe in the sixties. I drove a 1931 model A roadster back and forth from Van Nuys to Burbank. When I was working there a neighbor girl came by the shop and said her mom had an old car in back yard she wanted to get rid of. Joe went to look when he came back to the shop said it was junk because they chopped it.I told him I would like to have it. He told me he need 25.00 for it. So I agreed and took his 1935 FORD cabriolet with a 3/8 3/8 flat and tow bar to pick it up. The car turned out to be a 1936 3 window coupe chopped and was an old club car. I took it home installed a small block Chevy in it using the 3 speed trans. This really pissed BIG JOE OFF. Unfortunately my dad sold the car while I was in the service DAMN IT. my email is louverlou@yahoo.com Hope you all enjoy the story we always had a good time at the store.
